Afternoon.....

Recently ive been hitting my Cleveland 4 hybrid pretty well, and I noticed AG have the 3 hybrid on sale, so I was thinking of purchasing it.

but im just wondering if the loft difference (2.5 deg) between the two clubs isnt substantial enough to make much of a difference? .

I only carry one hybrid now but when I had two I found 3* was not enough carry difference between. 5* seemed a better gap for me.... 24* & 19*.

I guess I should have clarified my post a bit. The difference for me isn't just about distance. I used to carry a 4H (24') and a 5W (19'). The problem I had is quite specific and that is with our par 3s. I was finding that I needed 5W distance and 4H flight. The 3H carries about the same distance as the 5W but flies higher and stops quicker and so it fits the bill perfectly. It is also easier to hit out of the rough. Since I had a space in the bag I added the 3H and use that or the 5W depending on the conditions or the shot I am trying to play.

if the clubs are the same model then it will make 1 club difference......it's that simple.

how that translates in your hands will be significantly influenced by your capability

if they aren't the same models then there are so many variables that anything can be the actual difference!

Buying a new club is usually just my recipe for increasing my desire to play/practice.

Sometimes I play with 7 clubs, other times up to 13 (when my trolley is working...)

Having the right club for every eventuality rarely improves my score. I am playing in a big game later this week (the one that really kicks off my season). I might just play with my 7 club set. I have all the scoring clubs in the bag. The rest is all hit and miss to be honest.

Buy it for enjoyment or motivation, or just because it makes you bag look more "pro".. :)

Unfortunately like a lot of things golf, it depends.

I can understand the question as some do seem quite close together. I can tell you of my experience on the GM+Adams day I was lucky enough to attend last year.
The fitter initially had me on 22 & 19 hybrids and a 15 3-wood, as they were doing this x more yards promotion and wanted to stay close to what I came in with - then once that was done he switched me to 22 & 17 hybrids as the gaps came out better (for me, on that day :) )
