I'm astounded at this and I can't believe the machine made it past the most basic stage of production....

This morning at the train station I attempted to purchase my weekly travel card. To save the poor person behind the glass from another transaction I decided to use the touch screen machine located just outside the ticket office. Straight away I knew something was wrong - every time I touched the screen it took absolutely ages to record my touch. Eventually I got to the 'touch here to pay' part and despite my furious touchings (Ooo Errr....) the damn thing wouldn't move on. With time ticking away I was left with no option but to go into the ticket office to purchase my ticket from the aforementioned person. Whilst she was processing my request I decided to quiz her on the machine:

"By the way, the ticket machine outside appears to be broken" I said
"Did the touch screen not work?" She asked.
"That's right." I replied "It takes ages to record your request" I added.
"Yeah, that'll be the rain" She responded, "it doesn't work in the rain."

What's the point in having it outside then????

I'm struggling to see how the damn thing made it into production!!!! I can just picture the scene in the factory....

Worker: "Boss, we've got a problem with the new TSTM2010 - it doesn't appear to work in the rain. What shall we do?"
Boss "Hmmmm, yeah, that is a major problem....OK, carry on with production and let's hope either no-one notices or it never rains again in England."

UNBELIEVABLE!!!! ;)

On the same note, my touch screen phone has done the dirty on me today. One more attempt to put the PIN number in before I get locked out of the damn thing - every time I press the No1 it inputs a 2! Frikkin' thing!

Right now it's in the airing cupboard :(

The Ministry of Crap Design has been at it again.....

Its like having the headlight switch on the end of the indicator stalk in your car. My Learners are always turning the lights off when they indicate.

The original Audi TT had a problem too. If you had a flat tyre you could replace it with the space-saver spare. But there wasn't enough room for the original wheel/tyre in the spare's space. So you had to put it on the front seat - and leave your passenger behind.
Ooops!
