Define 'feel'...

Not sure I've ever hit a pure shot then!!

I feel something on every shot but I would say that the better strikes are free of club twist and unwanted vibrations. Still feel it though.

Are you guys shutting your eyes when you do this?

Thanks guys clear as mud then :D and what bed and girlfriend planet hapless is on I have no idea :D

After much careful consideration I have decided that all references to the term 'feel' are in fact utter buzzcocks! Essentially people referring to feel are actually commenting on:

1. Their touch on or around the greens
2. The sound of the strike, which will be either nice or nasty
3. The quality of strike: sweetspot vs toe or heaven forbid a Sherman

So its not buzzcocks as you have just defined it.

It is because there is no common understanding. Everyone has different opinions and interpretations. If I say I thinned it you all know what I mean. Ditto for a shank or a fat or a duff. But feel is interpreted by different people in different ways and there are contradictions in those interpretations so for me it is a buzzcocks turn of phrase! :D

Now FEEDBACK !!!!!!!!

Thats a different kettle of fish. If you hit off centre with a blade you get feedback and by God its sore and uncomfortable. Nothing like toeing a Mizzy bladed long iron ...... you stand there vibrating like something from a Tom & Jerry cartoon.

I define feel as actually making contact with it. Nearly missed one altogether at the weekend. It's all subjective in terms of the full shot and the difference between cast and forged. For the length of time the ball is in contact with a club it makes no real difference in terms of feel. The nearer to the absolute sweetspot you get is what makes it a pure shot and the quality of the strike compressing down onto the ball

It is because there is no common understanding.

of course not because it's subjective.

I've spent the last few weeks hitting lots of different makes and models of club - I assure you, you do feel the difference, some feel right and some just dead wrong.

Yep, anything with a PX shaft, no feel, just dead. Naff all to do with the head though.

Weird how different people feel different things.

I have PX in every club now apart from my putter and would look for them again if I changed clubs.

I tried S300 and they felt dead in comparison.

Different strokes and all that...
