I am 16, in full time education and wanting golf lessons badly ( i used to when i was 10ish). So because i want golf lessons im getting a job at a call center to pay for the lessons, the clubs, the equipment and the membership, i worked it out il be working about 8 hours for every 1 hour golf lesson haha, or is it best to do group golf lessons instead of 1 on 1 which will be cheaper but is it worth paying extra for 1on 1?

sack the part time job man. 8 hours practice instead. watch a few youtube videos and youll be fine. enjoy the game and dont get wrapped up in trying the find the perfect swing.

oh and stay in school

What he said you dont need 8 hours in a call centre at 16 put the study in and enjoy improving by playing for fun plenty of years ahead to get caught up in the technicalities of your golf swing just play and enjoy!

Good for you young man, its great to hear that your willing to work for the things that you want. Back in the middle ages when I was young I had my first paper round when I was 10 to help out the family and to buy the odd things that I would have had to forgo.

You will appreciate the lessons more knowing that your own efforts paid for them!

But surely il get better both practising around 1-2 hours a day and both days on the weekend with a lesson rather than just practice- I could be practising the wrong thing and get worse?

Exactly my thoughts, and to the people saying i cant do both i think i could, as i can choose my own hours, therefore i could do 8pm-10pm 3 times in the week then 8am till 12 pm on one saturday or sunday per week? ( and still play on the days i work)

Lot's of pros do free golf lessons for juniors at the weekends.
Go and have a chat with a few in your area or give them a ring and see what they say.
I would suggest you have a few lessons to check on your fundamentals and whether its 1 on 1 or group.....I would go group. It's cheaper and you'll make friends your own age who also love golf.
Then go out and play (with better players if possible)
