hi guys, just wandering what people consider to be a decent stableford score. i hit 34 on wednesday on a course i'd never played before, and hit 25 today on a different course.

ive only ever hit under 100 twice so i use a 28 handicap for the scoring!

My target is usually 32/33 points - if I've scored that then I've done ok.
Not on handicap but not a nightmare either.

34 is decent.

the thing with stableford is it rewards good holes and allows you to forget the bad ones, im personally not happy unless i shoot buffer, so like homerslice says 34 if poss.

i hit 32 today which doesnt do justice to how well i played, but likewise its the score i signed for:thup:

I tend to look at 30 as a good cut off. No logic behind it but if I make that barrier I know I'm not that far away from 33 (buffer zone) and 36 (handicap)

Couple of issues with this.

If the SSS is 69, don't you generally need to be 1 lower for buffer/handicap (depending on CSS of course)?

And as you are now Cat 2 () Buffer is only 2 off CSS, as opposed to 3 when you were 13!

only been under 30 once so far this summer. it was an away day at strabane when i had a awful round. had 16 out and 18 back today for a 34. was happy to battle back. i had a couple of blanks in there. -1 for the last 4holes. good finish!
