Went to the range earlier, wanted to test a few 3 woods as mines so old, my local range has an AG next to it and they sort you out a bucket of balls to test their gear out on (bonus)
I also asked one of the staff if I could try a few drivers out, and he said he'd bring a selection up that he thought I'd like. Didn't get on with any of the 3 woods, so when the drivers arrived I got on them.
Cobra s3 max felt horrible and sort of wooden at impact, tried a burner but the head was ridiculously large and felt too light, then I tried a callaway hawk razr. What a club! Easily an extra 20 yards over mine and consistently better too.
That's when he told me how much they were, he then got on a smart phone and price matched to £235. I asked him if they would sell the demo as it was in good nick, and after a good haggle I got his manager down from £180 to £150.

Does anyone else think this is a result, or should I swerve it?

Got the green light off HID so was gonna pick it up tomorrow

Thats a very good deal. I only got a fiver off my Razr Hawk when I brought it back in September. With the new model out next month they were probaly willing to move that bit more.

Sounds like a decent deal. If you're happy then go for it. You can always find it a new home on flea-bay if you find you can't use it

That was my thinking, plus I dont think I'm good enough to pay top whack for a new driver yet.

Oddsocks no mate, world of golf on the A20. Only telling you because I made sure they took it out back and hid it for me ;)

Callaway Razr Hawk driver had the same effect on me. At least 15 yards further and straighter than my G15 and with a better trajectory. Pity, because the Ping felt so much nicer to use but you can't argue with the results.

Any chance you could loan it for a game first. Drivers tend to have a tendency to love you the first time you try them on the range then become all PMT/VPL when you buy them and get on the course. Bit like Women really.

Tried the Razr Fit at Wentworth (courtesy of GM) after the TM fitting day and I have to say that it was fantastic. It was set to neutral so I assume it will be similar overall to the Razr Hawk if unadjusted.

A that price I would say go for it.

No chance of that from AG, tried last summer when trying to pick my irons.

As a few have said, if I end up dis liking it I can always sell it on, could even get a small profit, probably stick it on here at the same price I paid though, let one of you lot have a bargain.

Decided i'm going to pick it up tomorrow afternoon, and ponce another bucket of balls off em for the range and give it a good breaking in, playing Sunday morning and my playing partner is after testing out my cobra. He's got a burner 2.0 and hisdriving is the only part of his game he really struggles with.

Good shop that AG - I too got a hawk razr from them for just £120. They said they were supposed to be keeping it for someone but didn't think they'd be back...

Noooooooooooo!

Good bunch of blokes in there though I must say, practically give you a free lesson sometimes when you're testing out some kit.

Definitely a decent bunch - tried five drivers in there last time and they kept giving me more balls to try with. And I doubt they would have been too fazed if I didn't choose any of them. But I did pick a very nice Cleveland Launcher.
