Having two young kids means that cash is strapped. So much so that I can't afford to splash out on the annual £1000+ membership fee especially in Leeds where membership is grossly overpriced. So I decided to go in for the De Vere scheme for £295 fpr the year. Seemed like a sweet deal. Loads of courses and use of the Spa facilities which would keep the wife quiet. Only trouble is getting a tee time! I can book up to 10 days in advance which seems like a long time but I still can't seem to get a knock on the weekend. There always seems to be about 12 corporate days on the go and the course is always full. I often feel like having a knock on the spur of the moment if an opportunity arises but getting a time off the cuff is harder than getting a ticket to watch the Masters. I called some other courses to see if I could get a round in and they hum and aah before they suck a breath through theeir teeth and say something along the lines of 'we can squeeze you in at ten past one but thheere is a society ahead of you and another tees off at 20 past one so it will be a slow round. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

My Bro in Law has it at Oulton Hall and he has booked us on 3 times during the summer on both Saturday and Sundays no bother and it hasn't been anything over 4 hours.........must have been lucky.

I must call at the wrong times. I do always manage to get a round in but I normally have to tack onto a 3 ball by begging nicely and promising to buy a round afterwards. Can't wait for the kids to go to school and I can afford to join a decent club.
