Dave Hockaday

Anyone know who he is ??
Wasn't good enough for forest green rovers and now you lot have ended up with him, almost as strange as when we sacked mark cooper as he was crap and he ended up 3 leagues higher at Swindon.

I used to play golf with him occasionally at Swindon, decent golfer and good guy.
He was a handy full back with Swindon and I think went through three promotions with Macari and Hoddle.
Quite surprising how many of Hoddle's Swindon team went on to be good coaches. Ling, Bodin etc.

Dave has good reputation as a coach and should do well.

How many had heard of Mauricio Pochettino 18 months ago.

Prob a great deal of people that followed Spanish football.

Ex Argentina international and managed Espanyol for 4 seasons

World of difference between him and Hockaday who has coached a few teams like Watford and managed no higher than non league

The trouble is Leeds is still a club with huge expectations despite their recent history and I wonder if they will give him a chance and time. Seems a bit of a gamble on a relative unknown but I guess the contract is smaller and so if he does get sacked the compo won't be a massive dent in finances. He might be a revelation and has certainly got some coaching pedigree behind him but whole different world when the buck stops with you

Aye right.

I am sure you know that I meant on here!

You never fail do you.

If I was to post that milk was white, you would come right back and say .......no it's black.
It does get tiresome.

What have Leeds got to lose?
They've had "Names" as Manager for the last X number of years and they still finish mid-table in the Championship.
This might just be what they need - either that or they'll be playing Wycombe Wanderers in a couple of years....

Again !!

I thought Colin W****r (sorry Neil Warnock) was a mistake but this one beggars belief, Don and Billy must be turning in their graves !

Has Gary Mac been manager there ?

Surprised they haven't looked towards some old boys to have a crack ?

Nothing wrong with relative unknowns getting a chance. I actually thought Meulensteen was beginning to turn the corner with Fulham in his first role and given until the end of the season I think he'd have kept us up. It depends on what the Leeds board have in mind, what funds he has available, and how patient the fans will be
