Danny Willett

Why does Danny feel he has to explain to his caddy everytime he misses a putt? Did he win The Masters or was it his caddy?

Probably for exactly the same reason you feel the need to post this question on the Internet.

He's human, he's individual, he needs to get it all out of his system and move on.

It's just who he is.

If you listen to his interviews he always referees to "we" and they said after he won the masters that he treats it as his team.

One thing I've noticed since the win is his pre shot routine and constant waggle over the ball. He does a weird thing with his right hand.

Aye he's twitchier than a Spice addict.
What's that thing he does with his left hand when lining up a putt?

Everyone has idiosyncrasies in pretty much everything they do. Give him a break. We're great in the uk in rooting for people on the way up then knocking them when they get there.

Don't forget he's still relatively young and new to the big time of golf, especially prior to the Masters and now has all the baggage being a major champion has to deal with. He seems a decent, family orientated golfer who is trying as hard as he can each time he plays and like every other golfer simply has his own way of getting it done

He shot a great final round and earned it.

Pit wasn't like Norman and Faldo.

why wasn't it like Faldo and Norman?

Faldo shot a best of day 67, same score as Willett. Speith dropped 6 shots in 3 holes in the middle of his round pretty much as Norman did. Only difference was Norman's final round total was 78 and not Speith's 73

looks to me to be completely overwhelmed since Augusta. I don't think he will win again until well after the next Masters. He will then be more relaxed, less pressured and will not have the "not won a major" monkey on his back. He will get back to winning.

Plus he has just had a kid, cant help his golf (or priorities) at the moment??

I think with winning the Masters comes a lot of media obligations and opportunities in the States, I'd imagine he's been quite busy off the course.

Here, here...... Well said Martin

its no worse than Speith who seems over reliant on his caddy for just abuot everything - i am surprised he hasn't got his caddy lining him up like they do on the LPGA!

The difference was that Willett ans Spieth were not paired together so it lacked that extra bit of drama.

Still a hell of an achievement.

I agree with everthing you have said. Maybe I am being hard on him? But Nick Faldo did turn to Fannie every time he missed a putt. He just got on with it.

but then again - he did have Fannie line him up for every shot he played - including putts
