is it against the rules to customise clubs? For example , change the paint work on a scotty cameron. my friend said that he was told it is altering the club.

i have since thought about it and im sure you can do it as you are allowed to get clubs bent either flat or upright.

anyone want to clear this up for me ? :)

Yes this is OK.

As said above, Scotty Cameron offers a customising service which can include new/different paint, stamps and different weights (If applicable).

You can change almost anything on a club as long as it stays within the rules. You can even change the playing characteristics - within the limits of the rules - but it can't be changed during a round, ie Lead tape, adjustable clubs
Paint jobs will have no effect on the way the club plays so is fine.
