Custom fitting Newcastle-Northumberland

Was just wondering if anyone could recommend somewhere good to go and get custom fit in Newcastle or surrounding areas??

You won't be disappointed

Wouldn't bother with anything else in Newcastle area

Yeah alls I seem to find around here is American golf.. there used to be a good bloke did it but he's retired now.. thanks mate I will look into that

Travel South to County Durham and see Dave Fletcher at Brancepeth Castle. Bought my 3 wood from him after a fitting, very knowledgeable decent bloke.

Any idea on what you are after? All I can say is that I found the Srixon centre at Studley very good and their northern one is at Rockliffe Hall.

Nicky, aka MGL , no longer does club building/fitting.
Sold all his gear

Have a look at David Mather at Foxton. Recently moved up there from Burgham and has a good reputation.

I've mentioned it previously but have a drive out to Close House, stop at the driving range building and look in at the rooms they have for fitting. Seemed pretty good to me although what their prices are like I don't know.

All I will add to this thread is this......

There's 1 major reason I drive from Newcastle to Edinburgh to Scott Gourlays place, you can add Wayman to this too.

Yes, there are facilities locally
Yes, there are local pros that can fit

But I guarantee, none of them have the knowledge Scott has when it comes to custom fitting and shafts
Trackman , anybody that's used, will tell you it's the best unit
Biggest range of heads and shafts you will see anywhere
From mainstream, to the very exotic
His knowledge of shafts and their characteristics is top notch

There's a local guy ( mentioned here ) that builds clubs ( self taught )
In the year I bought my 1st set of irons from Scott
This same guy was selling cars.......

No guarantees
Can only get fit for the swing you turn up with on that given day

But this isn't about the rights and wrongs of custom fitting
There's been enough of them threads
Just about trying to recommend somebody local
