Custom fitting brand or not

I’m trying to improve my game after years of non playing, I would like some advice on custom fitting irons. Shall I go to a brand or go to a local golf club/shop.
I’m in the north London area and I was wondering if anyone had any advice about where to go

Go to an independent then you can try multiple brands

As for where to go - Custom Labs in Hitchin is superb

Precision Golf in West Byfleet

And golf principles in Basingstoke

Try as many as you can , most are very similar now .
It pays to look around.

I'd definitely visit a company that undertakes all club building themselves as they can build to exact specs. Mass assembly of equipment at a manufacturer results in higher tolerances. This often means the club, or clubs, delivered might not be the same spec (measured loft/lie of both wood/irons and swingweight) as the clubs you were fitted with on the day.
