We have many 'roll-ups' in my club - any member can just roll up / turn up at the roll-up 'check-in' time, pay your entry fee (£1) and you are in - but we don't do 'bounce games' - whatever they are.

Bounce game to me is just a knock about, I.e. non qualifier nor a proper match.

I am of age where the answer used to be because the pubs closed at 10pm and stayed shut on a Sunday. I have no idea why they are now but I suppose they must have caught from the parents

I imagine a lot of open competitions are stableford to keep people moving, i.e. can't score pick up.

mmm - not quite just Aberdeenshire - just Buchan maybe...I have cousins originally from Morayshire and they are most definitely 'fit like' loons.
Quines and Loons is Doric sort of NE. Buchan is in Aberdeenshire is it not?

maybe - though I consider all the NE corner as Buchan - not actually sure if it is and whether Morayshire and Banffshire ar part of Buchan - but they are definitely fit-like doric 'counties'.
