Our Patterdale Terrier couldn’t go to crufts. All those other dogs would be too much temptation to run around and cause trouble/have fun.
Isnt that what "real" dogs are supposed to do.....?Our Patterdale Terrier couldn’t go to crufts. All those other dogs would be too much temptation to run around and cause trouble/have fun.

Agree. Should have Ruffts for all cross breeds...Dogs are great loyal companions.
Don't understand the need for Crufts and the like where owners show off inbred "perfect" animals.
what would be the point you would just end up with the same thing and don't crufts now allow some of then cross breeds in now, cockerpoo's and the like?Agree. Should have Ruffts for all cross breeds...
Advice is not to bend over in front of itThe mother in-law’s got one.
It’s a pain in the arse.

As an aside, as regards dogs like cockerpoos, and labradoodle dandies (or whatever they are called) - when did we stop calling them mongrels? And indeed, start charging a fortune for them? Just asking ...

As an animal/dog lover I hate what the search for so-called show animals/dog attributes has done to animal/dog health. All disguised by apologists in the search of the 'perfect' features. In my opinions in-breeding to deliberately emphasise 'features' that can cause premature blindness, breathing issues and bone deformation is a form of cruelty.
Look what inbreeding did for the royals in past centuries !!
Trouble is this is compounded by the demand for these designer breeds. Pugs, french bulldogs ect. Snck is a small place and even out on our walk this morning all we passed were carpet rats pugs and Frechies..its alarming whne you see old photo's or paintings of certain breeds and you see how much they have changed in 100 or so years. Happy to say the Breed we have , German Shorthaired Pointers are unchanged in 150 years. As an animal/dog lover I hate what the search for so-called show animals/dog attributes has done to animal/dog health.
