If I assume you're a city fan do I detect a hint of sour grapes and I'll not even mention your current spending spree!!
If you're a red many thanks for taking our best players and paying exorbitant prices for them...worked a treat eh.

Spurs are in a sound financial position with a shrewd chairman who doesn't bow to excessive wage demands. That's probably why we do shell out on players but hey, let's face it, it worked this season!! ;)

I think it's quite a sorry state of affairs that a team who finishes fourth celebrates like they've won the league.

For the record, I believe the Champions league should be just that - for Champions. The others (2nd, 3rd, etc) go into the Europa League.

Oh get over yourself.

The 4th place qualfier gives the lesser clubs something to aim for and by lesser I mean those with less resources than the "big 4".
Lets face it the league is usually a 2/3 horse race by Xmas so it does keep the interest going,

I really don't think that matching the champions of say the Irish League with Barcelona would be much of a contest for the impartial observer. At least Spurs may give them a match at The Lane(assuming we win the qualifier....big assumption I know).

Do you really object to us having our day in the sun after so long....I know Harry is not everyone's cup of tea but at least the team plays attractive football.

Sorry pal, nothing against Spurs per say, merely commenting on the present CL situation.

I think it's all about the distribution of the wealth generated by the CL. Currently, the top four teams of England, Spain and Italy get most of the funds. Therefore, their clubs/squads get bigger and better year on year. If it was changed so that the Champion from each country participated then the wealth would be shared more evenly so your small Irish/Welsh/Hungarian/Polish teams would be able to get bigger and better so that, in a few years time, the games wouldn't be so unevenly matched. It would probably benefit their national teams as well.

I know it'll never happen because the big European clubs would simply break away and form their own Premier European League.

It's great to see Spurs in Europe - the 'big 4' have been broken. You do have a big mountain to climb but I'll be cheering you on - for no other reason than I work with a mad keen Spurs fan and he's a big bugger........

With regards 'Arry - I like him - just make sure he's not crippling you financially.

Yeah AW have to agree about the distribution of wealth, its a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy.....qualifying teams get all the cash, can afford the best players and inevitably qualify again the next year.
Bit simplistic I know but effectively its what happens.

Thats why (apart from being a Spurs supporter) it was good to see a new face qualifying and 2 or 3 other new faces knocking on the door.

I think Levy's to clued in to let 'Arry pull the wool over his eyes.

Most "big buggers" are softies at heart!!

I think that for the first time in a good number of years, the PL is set up very well for next season. Chelsea will be up there, Man U and Arsenal as usual with Spurs, Man City and Villa all in the hunt. I see Liverpool spending a good while in mid league obscurity for a while - no CL, no Torres and possibly no Gerrard.
