Coxmoor, why it’s not in the top 100’s I don’t know! Is it because it was laid out by “no-names” Tom Williamson (the professional at Notts Golf Club) and Len White the Coxmoor professional in the 1930’s? Despite being unheard of, they did a remarkable job!

Perhaps only one weak hole that isn’t really that weak, it’s just that the other 17 holes are extremely good. A 6700 yard Par 73 with 5 differing par 5’s. The par 3’s are unique too, they’re all very different and very good in their own way. Flat tee boxes, Fairways like carpets and greens that were receptive and fast.

A belting course. Probably more playable than Holinwell and, for that reason, I have always preferred it. Looking forward to playing an Open there later in the summer.

Absolutely.... along with Sherwood, which I'm playing tomorrow. Ganton, a great course, is in a similar 'difficult to play' category.
