Stanley Park being council run until March looks like a new operator will be needed, with deep pockets.

Such a shame for this course. Had been getting progressively worse for years, but designed by Alister Mackenzie and pretty much in the centre of town. Grandad played there, and used to go down and play for £6ish as a kid.

Unfortunately, can't see anybody with the finances to pay £70,000 a year as well as filling a £300,000 finance hole. Would be better trying to buy the whole lot (incl clubhouse) from the council for a silly amount and trying to turn it round over 10-15 years with new membership and proper investment in the course.

That said, anyone will a couple of million to spend in Blackpool at the moment is probably more interested in Bloomfield Road, than the golf club.

Yea agree it doesn’t look good for its future.
Have played it and was ok, albeit wet in Winter.
Guess with all the local competition it’s tough to retain members and attract visitors. So many courses, including some much nicer ones, in that area. Shame though as it offered a more affordable alternative for those not wanting to pay higher prices.
