Hi
Hope you all had a great new year and have already managed to get out and play. I played New Years day, throughly enjoyed it but very very windy 😳

I have been given the task this year of organising our mixed away weekend. Two possible options are the Forest of Arden or the Oxfordshire.
I've played the Oxfordshire, really enjoyed it but a little worried that its a long course and some of the shorter hitters will struggle off the tee particularly some of the ladies. I have not played the forest of Arden so not sure what either of the courses are like.
Has anyone got any info on the Forest of Arden or any other course options with hotel within a 50mile radius of North Oxfordshire.
Thanks

Heythrop has a nice hotel. Not played the course but its supposed to be ok from what I've heard. Avoid Abbey hotel, not a very good course. Does the Warwickshire have a hotel onsite?

Of the two personally Id much prefer the Forest of Arden to the Oxfordshire. Had a refurb a few years ago and a decent venue. Arden course is much better than the Aylesford. Have never been a fan of the Oxfordshire, can be a long slog depending on the weather as is pretty exposed. Nice hotel to stay at and plenty of other facilities too.

Bowood Park in Wiltshire worth considering from where you are based?

D4S - no Warwickshire doesnt have an onsite hotel

Bowood is nice, but again it's fairly long circa 6900 off whites and 7200 off blues, think the yellows are about 6600 so depends on the standard of the group.

Personally I would say the Oxfordshire as I like the course and facilities.

Of those 2 the FOA for me, if you have to play both courses, then play the Aylesford first so you have better memories because the Arden is much more superior, especially the back 9. What month will this be?

Donnington Grove, near Newbury then try Newbury and Crookham both testing but complete opposites imo. Or the Welcombe in Stratford upkn Avon folowed by Leamington County or Kenilworth, both only a short drive from S-O-A

erm, none of those have a hotel?

Thanks guys,
At the moment waiting on prices coming back from both. We will be going mid June so hopefully the weather will be kind.
I'm also looking at the Wiltshire, Staverton park and Ullesthorpe as options.
We will have a mix of handicaps from 6-36 and ages from 30s-late 70s so need to consider all.
