Course Defrosting

I was up at our course yesterday for the AGM and they are expecting to be open tomorrow assuming the forecast is correct, snows gone here now so I expect they will stick to that (theyre quick to open though if it still some frost in the gorund)
 
It was a tropical 8 degrees here yesterday so ours should be open this weekend....shame I'm heading back up to Lincolnshire this weekend! I'm taking my clubs so hopefully there will be courses that have re-opened up there so I can get out for a round!
 
Ours is still closed. They are hoping to be open Wednesday, but it will be 18 temporary greens until the water drains away and the ground dries out. Trolley ban too, which is unusual for us.

Hope it is ok for the weekend really, starting friday afternoon would be perfect.

A wee bit miffed that you have 'stolen' our main reason to gripe off season ...snow and frost are ours and I will have a word with our Alex to get them back, come the vote!

Possibly mate, HID's brother wants to play, but he hates playing with people he doesn't know because he's still fairly new to the game so hacks it around a bit. Not sure if I'll be able to persuade him. Hopefully though! Can I keep you posted?

No problem, I have no problem playing with someone hacking it a bit (I can be just as bad). I am free all weekend at the moment so let me know.

Sweet! It would definitely be saturday as HID and her mum are off to enquire about wedding flowers.

I'll try and persuade him this week.
 
Ours was open today in Newcastle area..I played early morning on way to work....as morning went on course was already softening,not lots of carry like last week.

I played George Washington on Saturday(near Newcastle} ground was hard conditions were poor for golf but it was a £6 game through Groupon............did quite well beat my handicap by 3.


Craziest thing was on the downhill rock hard driving range I hit a 2 sided chipper (that I dont use anymore)...just to see how far I could whack it..............150 yards!!!
 
just looked at the garden and its still frozen down here, although the snow is going - down to about an inch.

dont reckon my place will be open til the weekend.

Range tomorrow night I think - I havent hit (or shanked) a ball for 10 days
 
Crowborough still under snow according to the website but temperatures slowly creeping up so fingers crossed it won't be too long before it is playable. Course used to drain reasonably well so hopefully things will be ok for a game on Monday although the long range forecast for that day is looking "stay at homeable".
