Courier advice required

I sent a bag to The Craw and it cost 12.25 via parcelforce weighing 3.228kgs

Cheers Homer, was quoted £10.99 + vat from Parcelforce, seems reasonable but you never know, someone could unearth something a good bit cheaper. A few cheaper places said package too big for their network although weight was fine :(

Paul,

That's more than the bag is worth:whoo:

I have shipped many golf clubs, a few bags and a number of other sized things in the UK and abroad, and I never use Parcelforce if I can avoid it.

The best way to ship is to use a secondary reseller of proper courier shipping, which is invariably more reliable, cheaper, trackable and will pick up at home or work. You will need to know the weight of the package and the dimensions. You also need a printer to print off a shipping label to attach to the package.

Interparcel http://www.interparcel.com/ or Parcels2go http://www.parcel2go.com/ are two such companies, although there are others.

A dummy booking with Interparcel for a package of <4kg, 100 x 35 x 35 cm came up with a price of £6.99 +VAT for Interparcel Standard, which is delivered by UPS and will get there tomorrow or the day after.

parcels2go is very good in my experience, you list what you have to send, and it gets you a quote from all of the major shippers. a bit like gocompare etc!

Agree that Parcel2Go are very good. If you can wait a few days for them to come and pick it up then the price is even better.

used them alot and always get the best deal for shipping to ireland

I've used Parcelmonkey for the last couple of years and they've been excellent. I have sent a tour bag via City Link next day collection and it was there the day after for £8.50 tracked and insured.
