Counterfeit goods

Could of told you it was fake before you contacted ping. They don't sell clubs online.

On the bright side you got your money back now sell it on eBay and put both money together an buy a real one lol

what made you think it was dodgy?

What was response from webshop?

I had an email from them starting "thankyou for your precious message" which sounded strange.

Just seemed to good to be true (price) and it was!

No response from retailer - credit card will refund and Ping will send me a posting sticker to return it to them.

Damn good copy - really difficult to tell the difference,

Wouldn't want anyone else to buy it - besides, it is against Ebay policy to sell fake goods, even if it is made clear.

Just bought a Ping K15 from http://www.discountsgolfuk.com - guess what - Ping have confirmed it is a fake. Luckily purchased with credit card, so money back from bank, but thought I would alert others.

Alert the authorities, trading standards etc. Just found this on a website.

What should you do if you’ve been a victim of counterfeit goods fraud?
If you think you have been sold counterfeit goods, or if you suspect somebody is selling fake goods, contact Consumer Direct on 08454 04 05 06 for advice. You can also visit Consumer Direct’s website. Your local Trading Standards office can also give you advice.

Do it now to stop other unsuspecting golfers getting ripped off! They are *******s and should be stopped.
Let us know the outcome.

Slime.

Apparently there was a program on TV not so long ago about organised multi million pound counterfit businesses and one of the businesses highlighted was counterfit golf clubs from China. I didn't see the program however my work colleague advised that they gave a few pros the clubs to examine and the only way they could tell the difference was by hitting the clubs.

It is worrying and my advice if you are ordering on-line is to avoid any sites with pop up live help and check for a uk business address and phone number. If you are unsure don't order and don't be afraid to ask on the forums if a site is genuine.

This website has been named many times, always check a landline and address for contact as a bear minimum, also as stated ping won't allow anything to be sold online if your place an online order you have to still phone and speak to someone.

Another good tip if you want to check the validity of a website is to read through the FAQ section. Often it will be written in very poor English. If that is the case then avoid!

Bogus goods are sold the world over, inexpensive knock offs made to look like trusted brand name items. But some anti-piracy activists, also as the Department of Homeland Security, are starting to get harder with those who traffic in the bogus goods. However, some of these crusaders also want to target the customers who intentionally purchase phony items. In the future, those who do so could face fees and maybe even jail time.

Counterfeiting is a huge business; every year, hundreds of billions of dollars worth of fake designer goods are sold around the world. It is still better that we buy original items than fake products. Though fake products come out cheap but the you are not sure with the products' quality.
