I had the pleasure of playing at Full_Throttle's home track on Saturday in their member's invitational and must say I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Copsewood Grange is a very pleasant reasonably flat 9 Hole track. Length off the tee is not a major requirement but accuracy certainly is.

Your round starts with reasonably open 190 yard shot into a green which is like an upturned saucer - quite a common thing at this course. It's protected by a bunker front left and a large Oak Front right.

At the 2nd par 5 the driving starts to get more like the rest of the course - you have to be very accurate to find the fairway with a fade (right handers) round some rather large conifers about 50 yards forward of the tee if you achieve this it is a fairly straightforward par 5 with a brook just short of the green.

This is then followed by 2 relatively straight shortish Par 4's

The 5th is a double dog-leg Par 5 which was made more difficult by the strong wind on Saturday. Tried to draw the ball around the 1st dogleg but only succeeded in driving it straight and running out of fairway. Another hole with water to carry short of the green.

the 6th 7th and 8th all require accurate drives, especially the 7th which is a good length Par 4 approx 380 yds and has a funnel of trees which appear no more than 15 yards wide some 75 yards in front of the tee to negotiate with a pond below to catch any that hit the branches. Those that move the ball a lot naturally would struggle.

The course finishes with a 177 yard Par 3 that is slightly uphill. Protected right and front by 3 bunkers - too long and your in some real cabbage.

The greens although slow which may have been attributable to the deluge the night before ran true and were very receptive - a relief considering the contours of quite a few.

If you are ever in Coventry and have some time to kill you could do a lot worse than visit this track for £16 for 18 holes midweek.

Copsewood is a nice track.People look at the fact its 9 holes and quite short, and think it will be an easy round, its anything but, especially if your slightly wayward,as its very tight.Water and/or OOB on most holes, and several of the greens are raised, some like upturned saucers.
Might have to go and have another knock there soon.
