Consumer advice required.

If you paid by credit card i suggest you contact the card provider and request a chargeback as they are equally responsible for the refund. If the legal system is the same in Scotland you could do a 7 day "letter before action" telling them that you will issue a summons if they do not refund you in full within the time frame. Sadly it does all take some time with an unco-operative trader.


You DO NOT have to accept a replacement or a credit note as they have accepted that the goods were faulty - don't be conned into doing so.
 
If you paid by card then contact your card issuer asap, they should be able to directly charge back to your card. Not sure you'd get anything for postage etc though, I highly doubt it... might pay to wait and just get a new jacket.

Got there in the end and appreciate the effort/end result to win back a rather peeved customer.
