computer advice please

HIDs laptop is driving me nuts, only a minor problem. Her MSN UK homepage won't open properly (says done, but shows a blank page) Everything else works ok (can browse other web pages) can get all other MSN pages but hot the UK one. Tried everything I can think of and even tried system restore, no change. It's not a web site problem as it comes up fine on my PC, any ideas? Keep it simple guys, I'm not very PC literate.

Yes that's the one. Cleared all the temp files, cookies ect. No different

I wouldnt worry about it, your not missing much!

Have you tried to google 'MSN UK' and click on the search results from that? Maybe the link you have saved is broken?

Yep tried that (several times) same result, blank page.

It may be that the laptop has a URL filter running that blocks rubbish web sites. Try the link below and see if it gets blocked also, if so then that confirms it............

I had that on my prohibited sites list, but yes -unfourtunatly- it still works .

Did you try turning off the firewall for a minute and see if that is blocking access to that particular site?

Yep tried that also tried it with Norton disabled, no joy.

Tried firefox and yes it works. But She prefers explorer and up until today MSN worked fine, I'm also using explorer and MSN comes up on that ok, got to be something simple surely.

Open Internet Explorer, at the top click "Tools" then "internet Options" then click the "Advanced " tab at the top

Hit "Reset" Follow it through Dont delete personal settings yet,

Restart IE and see if it works

If it doesnt, repeat the above but put a tick in the box for " delete personal settings"

feel free to report back if still not fixed
