Comedy Gigs

Billy Connolly live is absolutely brilliant and saw 2 of the Mrs. Brown's Boys shows live at Hammersmith Odeon which were equally good. Keep trying to see Brendon Burns and already have something else booked when he's about.

Not seen Tim Vine but have to agree that for clean one-liners he takes some beating; "I went on a once in a lifetime holiday. I'll tell you what, never again!"

Hey Richard, do you like Jason Byrne? he is at the hexagon in a fortnight, i bought my bro some tickets for his birthday, so i have to babysit for him too somehow! but he is a funny fella!!!
Bit scary for me.;) I do generally like Irish humour, especially Father Ted.

Someone mentioned Mike Harding. He was very funny, and one of the best comedy gigs I ever went to was Max Boyce.

There's been a number of threads talking about music gigs recently, so I thought I'd ask what stand up comedy gigs you've seen recently.

My wife and I watched Micky Flanagan last weekend at Birmingham NIA. Fabulously funny evening, I've not seen my wife laugh that much for a long time! Although he did cross the line at one point IMO.

Tomorrow, I'll be seeing Reginald D. Hunter in Cheltenham, really looking forward to that.

Out of interest what joke was that?

The one where he was imitating a stroke victim.

Reginald D was very good - his Australian warm up man was even better - is he still the warm up act?

Went to see Reg last night, his warm up was a Canadian chap called Pete Johansson (http://www.petejohansson.com/), a very funny guy who I reckon we'll be seeing more of.

Reg's act was VERY different to others that I have seen, sometimes difficult to follow, very deep and philosophical, but also very clever and entertaining. Someone tweeted after that it was more like a therapy session than a comedy session. He delivered a killer joke at the end which was really close to the line, one of these moments when you're laughing but you know you shouldn't.

I am going to see Barenaked Ladies tonight, its a music gig but the support is comedian Boothby Graffoe, not the best known comedian but he has done series in the past on Radio 4.

Tommy Tiernan for me. Seen him 3 times now and he is excellent. Last time I seen him he caught me looking at my phone and ripped me to bits....That was after his support Jarrod Christmas ripped me when I came back from toilet after he started.
Jarrod Christmas is also pretty funny.

Am I the only one who doesn't get Mrs Browns boys, I can't stand that program!
