Pin-Seeker, if you watch Tommy Cooper what he said was rarely funny if you wrote it down. It is all in the delivery, the timing, the look. I laughed at the Garlic Bread line, even more at the 55" Plasma is the future line he made on his last tour after he explained how people kept giving him garlic bread for free.

Billy Connolly
John Bishop
Peter Kay
Lee Evans
Jim Davidson
Mike Read
Jasper Carrott

Seen all of these live and they've all had me in stitches. Different styles and delivery but all were at the top of their game and funny, topical and had so much individual material

I saw Chubby Brown with some mates and for a boys night out he was great but wouldn't take HID to see him. Bit to OTT. Same with Kevin Bloody Wilson although I thought he was better that Chubby

Am I the only one that finds Michael McIntyre totally rubbish.

Can't stand Jimmy Carr. His fake laugh gives me the creeps. Michael McIntyre is not much better. Another I switch off is Lee Evans.

Loved Max Boyce Mike Harding and Jasper Carrot back in the day. was dragged to see Cannon and Ball years ago. that is two hours I will never get back.:(

Ed Byrne probably my favourite current comedian. Seems like a decent bloke, and is very good when teamed up with his mate Dara. Tim Vine was very good live as was Sean Locke and Jack Dee.

Blimey. Forgot all about Max Boyce. My dear old dad was a great fan and had loads of tapes of his stuff. I agree about Carr. Very smarmy and insincere and not even very funny

I'm out tonight to see Mark Simmonds. I saw him on FB and thought he could be quite funny. Sort of like Tim Vine. Anyhoo, going with the wife, we are highly critical of these "comedians" so fingers crossed.........

Not familiar with him but I love Tim Vine so if he is similar........post back what you think of him afterwards.

Mike Harding, loved listening to him on Lps, Billy Connolly.

Saw Freddie Starr back in the day and he was very funny.

Some of the Peter Kay stuff back when he started was hilarious but I found his latest tour very very tired and repetitive. Telling a joke from 15 years ago wasnt funny. Plus we thought he looked very Ill.
