I've seen Billy Connolly live and he was fantastic, I like most except Micheal McIntyre tbh.

I would've loved to have seen Tommy Cooper Live his videos/dvds are great.

99% of all "new" comedians do nothing for me whatsoever. I keep on watching them on TV in the hope that one will inspire me to go and see them live (where they are usually much better) but the only one that is doing it for me at the moment is a bloke called Danny Bhoy. OOo he's touring...gotta go......

Really enjoyed Rich Hall when I saw him last year.

Also saw Frank Skinner and Al Murray. Skinner was OK, Murray had a good first half, but tailed off. Funnily enough, Murray's front row schtick was the highlight of the evening (though slightly uncomfortable, as I was in the second row). Luckily, the guy in front of me was a Detective Constable....

Surprisingly no mentions for Jethro or Max Boyce...

Old enough to have seen Tommy Cooper and Eric & Ernie but most probably wasn't old enough, when I saw them, to appreciate how good they were...

Another mention for Jim Davidson who before PC came along would have you in stitches from the off... Used to own one of the piers in Great Yarmouth where we would go and see him...

Absolutely cannot stand John Bishop, Michael MacIntyre , Ricky Gervais or Lenny Henry. Just not funny IMO

Reginald D Hunter makes me laugh, as does Rob Brydon, Roisin Conaghty and Rhod Gilbert.

Would have loved to have seen Bob Monkhouse, Tommy Cooper and Morecambe and Wise back in the day.

From ones I've seen live:

Excellent - Frank Skinner. Dave Gorman.

Worth a watch - Rob Brydon, Rhod Gilbert, Jason Manford, Jimmy Carr.

Disappointing - John Bishop, Tim Vine, Lee Mack

Awful - Frankie Boyle, Chubby Brown, Sean Lock

Going to see Kevin Bridges in July - have heard he's tremendous live. Would love to see Billy Connelly but fear he's past it now.

I saw Peter Kay and he was hilarious. Back many years ago Jim Davidson was the best joke teller ever but along with PC came a change of style that he wasn't good at and I thought he was crap the last time I saw him

I'm due to see Milton Jones soon, I ve liked his style on TV and just hope he's good on stage

"When I was at the school, the teacher said I could take the Guinea pig home. Three weeks later I arrived on the island of Papa New Guinea...'

Milton Jones luv him!

Seen Dara O@Briain and thought he was very funny on his Craic Dealer tour.
Micky Flanagan before tv fame was really funny.

Not strictly a comedian, but Brian Conley is one of the funniest I've seen live.

Worst = Miles Jupp. Went with high expectations and left utterly disappointed.

Another vote for Mickey Flanaghan, also like the little cockney geezer in shorts and baseball cap, Lee Nelson?

Russell Howard, seen his last two tours and loved them.
Sarah Millican and John bishop. As above. Micky Flanagan saw last tour, preferred first dvd.
Pretty impressed with most stand up guys atm. Live at the Apollo always on series link on sky.

Used to like Pete Kay, but found he regurgitated too many jokes. Same with Landlord. Can't stand Lee Evans, IMO a good comedian can be an enjoyable podcast and lee Evans is more laugh at than with.

Jim Davidson Red White and Blue was very good.

This is so tough for me, massive comedy fan and really haven't been to as much shows as I would have liked.

Top 5 would be:

Jack Whitehall
Milton Jones
Mickey Flanagan
Jimmy Carr (got pretty much all his DVD's and seen him live)
John Bishop

Honourable mentions:

Michael Mcintyre
Russell Howard
Russell Brand
Peter Kay
Kevin Bridges

Ok it was a top 10

Don't like:

Miranda Hart
John Richardson (only live he's funny on 8 out of 10 cats)
Andi Osho (saw her at an event just not funny)

Keith Lemon is good, not sure if he counts though as he's not a 'stand up'.

Frankie Boyle is funny as is Kevin Bridges. Quite like John Bishop as well. Heard a Scottish lassie on Radio Scotland on way home from work the other Friday there, can't remember her name, but her 5 minute skit was pretty good....so I'll give her a wee mention.

Not funny? Far too many to mention........usually the ones on telly as well!

Billy Connolly has been utterly fantastic every time I have seen him live; the dangerous dogs skit about how useless Parliament is never fails to amuse. Jasper Carrott & Dave Allen I really enjoy, Lee Mack was okay but not outstanding, Peter Kay was also very good as is Brendon Burns.

For something slightly different, Mrs Brown's Boys live is fantastic. "She" is an absolute git to the other cast members, always throwing curveballs; Rory completely corpsed the first time we saw them because of what "she" did to him.

Saw Jethro about 20 years ago, he was rubbish. Bumped into him once in our pro shop too whilst he was paying a green fee, he was performing later that evening in town.

Went to see John Richardson earlier this year but he was only average. He is much funnier on 9 out of 10 cats.

I like Jimmy Carr and John Bishop. With Bishop I don't think he's hilarious but he makes me smile and seems very likeable. Same for Jason Mansford.

I like Sean Lock and Rhod Gilbert on the panel shows but was disappointed when watching their stand up. Same for Lee Mack.

Russell Howard and the word "funny" should never be used in the same sentence.

Jethro was rubbish!!! When I saw him the whole house was in stitches, I guess one mans meat is another's poison though.

Billy Connolly 1975-1985 brilliant. Wouldn't cross the street now to see him. KevinBridges is top draw.Peter Kay, Michael McIntyre quite entertaining.Sarah Milligan very funny.Mike Reid in his day was good.
