Guys is this Forum turning into NHS 24, in all honesty is this a joke. If you've got cold sores go to Boots the chemist and ask the girl behind the desk for advice.

Nah, not like NHS 24 at all. There is some good advice here.

NHS Direct (what NHS 24 is called in England) is nicknamed NHS Redirect or NHS Dire by hospitals and general practices, based on the quality of the advice they give.

Save your money, don;t buy expensive remedies.
I've had two and a lady at work told me to put gents aftershave on it, she does and they worked a treat.

I tried it.... gone within a week both times.

I can vouch for using aftershave. As soon as you can feel the damn things starting to come dab some aftershave on them and keep doing it every couple of hours. They then never develop into the foul looking puss filled thing but come out like a slight nick when you've cut yourself shaving, much better.

I use to get them all the while in Winter after I'd taken a clout in the mouth playing rugby. Took me 20 years to learn to keep me mouth shut then I didn't get clouted!!!! Slow learner.
