Hi! I'm a beginner, but I want to (and have to;) learn how to play. Do you have any recommendation where I can learn how to play the game in quiet, nice and not very expensive place (somewhere close to London). Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi welcome and enjoy the forum. I would suggest some lessons with a PGA pro either a nearby course or driving range, if you post which part of London I'm sure there's plenty on here who can offer more advice.

You don't need to be a member of a club to use the pro for lessons, they are always looking for new customers. But if you are completely new to the game I would suggest that you start with group lessons where there may be about 6 or 8 of you at a time. A lot cheaper to get you started then when you have grasped the basics, move on to individual lessons.
All half decent driving ranges will offer some form of group lessons.

Enjoy

If you are a complete noob to the sport then the World of Golf driving ranges (New Malden, Sidcup, Croydon) are doing 6 x 1hr beginner lessons for free.

My other half is having a go and she's thoroughly enjoying it. She gets given a 7 iron and only has to pay for balls. It's an excellent introduction to the sport and means that you don't have to shell out a load on lessons etc only to find that you really don't enjoy it etc.

I have just had lessons at the New Malden range and the guy that I have has a tie to a local golf course (Coombe Wood) which means that whilst I have the bog standard lessons at the range we've also had an 1hr short game lesson and a 9 hole round on an actual course which is really enjoyable and nice to get away from the range so you can actually see things in a real world environment.

Welcome. London is a big place...can you be more specific?

I learned to become a master hacker around London. Mostly W and S, with the odd trip to way out zones like St Albans, Slough, and Surrey.

I did most damage though in the Ealing area. Ripped up a few of those muni's,I tell you :)
