Club Fitting

Has anybody used the club fitting at Precision golf and was it worth the £200?

Are there any other independent club fitters around that can be recommended. Can anybody recommend the Belfry golf academy?

I am trying to get away from the usual pro/AG stock selection of clubs but in particular shafts. I got p***ed of with my local pro as i just went in to get a club re-gripped with one a bit smaller that the normal size. He proceeded to tell me that he didn't have any and that i would not make any difference anyway.

I have been to Precision, although I didn't pay £200, and it is an excellent set up with highly experienced fitters and access to a huge range of components. Sounds like a lot of money, but a couple of bad club purchases will cost you just as much and you will probably have hit more bad shots along the way.

Not that close to Inverness, though.

The £200 is for a whole bag fitting and takes about 3.5 hours so it sounds pretty thorough...it is a lot of money but if you end up with a set of clubs that suit you that would be £50 a year if you didn't change your clubs for 4 years!

Yes - a long time ago (and have used them since); Didn't cost that much when I went, but was relatively pricey. Was worth it though.

Scott Gourlay (and his assistant Gregor) does seem to be good. Edinburgh based, huge hitting, mate certainly recommends.
