Club cleaning secrets

Normally don't wash my clubs too often but after getting a new driver and new irons I feel I want to keep them in as good condition to increase longevity.

So what kind of cleaning do you guys use. I normally use soap water that I used for cleaning a car and a stiff brush.

Soapy water and an old toothbrush then a rinse and dry

Warm soapy water and a nail brush. Rinse and dry. All shiny!!!

HID tends to use lukewarm water, a bit of fairy and a nailbrush before drying. She does the grips once month too

Mine don't get cleaned as often as they used to now they live in my locker

Warm water with some fairy, and a cap full of Milton. It was a recommendation off here a while back. Usually once a fortnight, grip are always clean and tacky, use a sponge int the iron heads and if there is anything in the grooves I just use a tee. My irons are always clean as I wipe them down after each shot whilst walking to the ball.

once a month, normally do them when the painters are in....

A) its a monthly reminder to get them done set by mother nature
B) its quiet time when shes in a strop


Just hot soapy water, clean the grooves with one of them club cleaners, wipe the shaft down, dry and back in the bag.

if im not playing for a few weeks and the clubs are going to be in the garage, i tend to spray a load of wd40 on a bit of kitchen roll, and wipe the shaft and heads on the irons and putter to stop any rusting.

I don't know, we have a little man in the locker room. You hand him your clubs at the end of a round, go for a drink, come back and they are clean

Sulphuric acid with a dash of hydrogen peroxide. Spotless.

Just washing up liquid and warm water. Old toothbrush for fiddley bits. Same for grips but scrub with a scotchbrite or simlar. Both done after every use of them.

Ok sad I know but wash the balls I've used as well.

Grips in very hot soapy water for a few minutes then abrasive washing pad on them then dry with cloth. Blades with a wire brush in the same water and dry. I am getting a little brush from santa, from Direct Golf catalogue which has ability to put soapy water in the handle - can't wait! She thinks i am a sad B******!

yeah just soak them in soapy water for a min then an old toothbrush on them.
Have to admit to not doing it very often though...! usually just end up cleaning them before each shot!

hot soapy water,nail brush and use grip cleaner keeps them nice and tacky also use a groove file on the course to keep irons tip top.

Im beginning to feel a bit guilty about just giving them a wipe with a damp cloth once a week now.. Maybe thats why they're not performing at the moment, they're sulking at me..

Dip the head into a bucket of watcher scrub with a brush re dip then wipe dry. I Don't use soap

Soak em in Steradent with a splash of vinegar

Nothing. Clean the grooves as I walk with one of those little brush jobs then a swish with a towel.

I have more to do with my life than clean golf clubs religiously. (Although not much at his time of year.)
