Never EVER seen anything like a guy in my group today... Every hole at least once!

Very nice gent, really friendly but he just had "one of those days" today. His poor driver... deary me! The putter too! Both were banged, helicoptered, thrown etc.

The irons did escape any abuse though, I know the guy and he is a decent fellow so I could forgive the other stuff as it did not put anyone off their game.

Only one thing put me off, on 18 he put 4 balls in the lake. It was a stableford and after two he was not going to score. I was last to play my 3rd shot from 50 yards but having to wait put me off my rhythm and I made 6 when it should have been an easy 5.

Would you have forgive someone you know having the worst round and behaving like that? All of our group did, an ex captain and a lady member. It was only because he is well known, liked and usually well behaved.

Well as someone who struggled to break three figures in the medal today I can feel his agony but can't condone his actions. I'm not adverse to the odd thrown club in my time but can't for the life of me see why he continued to play out at the 18th if he couldn't score and had already dunked several in the water. I'd have politely asked if you could have played your shot once it was apparent he was out of the hole.

If i was unfortunate enough to be drawn with a club chucker,he'd best hope there was no water in the vicinity, because after he'd thrown the first club,i'd throw the rest.
No excuse for ruining somebody else's game because your struggling and can't control your temper.
Its a game, that we supposedly play for enjoyment ? if it frustrates people that much that they resort to throwing there clubs, they should find another pastime.

not being shy at coming forward, if the same applied to myself, I'd be telling the idiot to grow up and if he did it again I'd be asking him to leave the group, as chance being the only way he'd get to use his driver would be if he squatted and wiggled his hips :)

Yes I get annoyed with my game, but I'm sure as hell not going to spoil my playing partners game by chucking or abusing my clubs.

For one they are damn expensive and I can't afford to replace them should through my own stupidity I snap a shaft or break a head and it's unsportsman like.

cheers
Dave

Re the 18th - I guess he wanted to hit one decent shot before the end. I can understand that and assuming he is not holding up the group behind I think he is within his right.
I wouldnt have the bottle to chuck clubs infront of a lady golfer however!

It ain't easy but you have to do as the pros do - block out everything else going on and think only about your next shot - and I don't mean ignoring them completely. I could produce a very long list of people I play with who, if I didn't block out their funny habits, would affect my game - and that's flakey enough without any contribution from someone else.

All the time this guy was hitting balls into the lake, were you ready to play with club in hand?

If so, once you've figured out the shot you're going to play, leave the club in the bag and think about something else while you're waiting.

Standing with club in hand thinking about golf when waiting is what does for me, not the actual waiting itself.

Was standing next to my bag patiently, I was about 20 yards directly infront on the same line.

TBH the club throwing was just funny but the last bit was annoying as I only had 60 yards to the pin and a decent lie.

Still ended up with 35 points, hit the ball superbly but missed 6, yes 6 8-15 foot birdie putts.
