WOW

Pick one of these last week and finally managed to have a bash at the range last night.

15.5 degree stiff matrix x-con 6 shaft.

Absolutely creamed the ball last night down the range. Was hitting range balls about 240 of the deck quite easily.

Changed up from using a Cobra S3 5 wood and was worried that i might struggle to use a 3 wood (having never owned one in 10 years of playing), but this thing is so easy to hit.

The Classic XL range truly are up there for me. They are a little under the radar compared to some brands, but having tested loads of new kit over the last 6 months i think these are the absolute best woods knocking around currently (imo of course!)

Anyone else use them?

I will be placing my order for one very soon.

You can pick a 3 wood up from Golf Depot for £49.99 and AG will price match.

My brother in law just bought one of these and really doesn't like it.

I'm a big fan of Cleveland woods and have to say the performance with the Classic XL is excellent. Very easy to get in the air and pretty forgiving right across the face. What he doesn't like, which I kind of agree with, is the feel. It isn't lively feeling at all and has an almost dead sound at impact compared to a lot of fairways about at the minute.

It sets up quite heavily draw bias as well, which would be the only thing that would stop me considering one, as I hit right to left naturaly and would be worried about hooking it.

The shaft is very nice, and it's a great looking piece of kit too.

Definitely worth a look for anyone in the market for a fairway, there isn't much that can touch it for value at the current prices.

I use to play the Cleveland XL Hi Bore driver and fairway woods and they were pretty functional. The fairway woods from memory had a pretty shallow face compared to some of the others around at the time. Got rid when I switched to the TM Burners

Very tempted to pull the trigger on one of these Cleveland fairway woods, if not two.

As a beginner, I'm starting to hit 5i and rescue clubs straight with some consistency and feel I'm almost ready for the next step to take me >165yards.

Presumably the draw bias would assist the beginner?

Personally i don't thing these clubs have a draw "bias" as such, more a gentle assistance.

My bad shot is a wicked hook and my natural shot shape, is a high (to high for my liking) draw.

I have used proper draw bias clubs in the past and cant use them. Dont get me wrong i have only hit 50 balls with the 3 wood, but i don't think i will have to many issues with it.

If you slice the ball, then a slighly closed face wont hurt you IMO. It wont cure it though.

Have two of these in the bag, really like them and a bargain at £50-60.

Only down side i see is the head covers have no shaft protection but the really look cool.
