Cleveland CG16 irons

The only thing that concerns me is the strengthened lofts.

Is this to even out the launch considering the grip you're going to get from the grooves?

What I mean is; if you have 'standard' lofts with the zip grooves, isn't the backspin rate just going to balloon the ball in the air? Hence the reason the lofts are stronger.

I would say it's so Cleveland can say these are the longest clubs ever :D
 
There's only 2 degrees of loft between the 3 and 4 irons.
I know many wont use the 3 but you do wonder why there is such a small gap.

I thought the CG7 Tour irons were ok apart from the mess in the cavity but have never liked the rest of Cleveland's irons much.
