What do you think? They seem to be taking a more anti modern Football stance as opposed to AFC Liverpool which didn't really work out. Football For the fans by the fans.

I really hope it takes off for them.

LB, Stu, Any idea who the guys are behind it?

To be fair to Liverpool their ticket prices are pretty reasonable and they don't sting their fans. That comes from a blue! Good luck to anyone who wants to start a team but Liverpool are not a club that needs a kicking as far as looking after their supporters is concerned.

I don't think its about kicking LFC.I'd imagine its a few guys who are passionate about the game and the city who are looking to start up a club that's affordable and accessible and something the city's working class residents can relate to.

Fair enough. Liverpool used to be a hotbed of amateur football. I don't know if that is still the case but there used to be huge numbers of amateur and semi pro clubs there.

Looking at the homepage there are plenty of Semi-Professional teams in the area, but not one from the actual City, looking at the map they conveniently draw it around the current clubs to come with an area not represented,
Prescott, Marine, Bootle even Southport have a large catchment area and why create another team to compete in an already established area, sorry but it smells of FC United and disgruntled wannabees to me.

Are you for real? I suggest you do some research on it and I'm certain you'll change your opinion!!

OP, I've not heard anything about it to be honest.

Just checked their website, £710-£869 for an adult ticket, £180 for juniors. I don't know if existing holders get reductions for renewals. Based on 19 home games per year that works out at approx £40 per ticket. Not cheap but if you want top players, top wages etc then you have to pay for it.

Similar clubs, Man Utd, £722 - £950, Aston Villa £335-£615, Southampton £541 - £853, Chelsea £595 - £1,250

Every year they publish figures of ticket pricing and I don't remember Liverpool being at the top end.

Obviously what is fair to what person is not fair to another. It is a subjective issue. Football is not cheap at PL level.

No one chooses to be disgruntled but when your loyalty is being taken advantage of and you being shafted week in week out just to line the pockets of the clubs owner or some lazy so & so on the pitch who doesn't give two hoots about pulling on the shirt then over time disgruntled is what you become.

I Take it your a regular match goer or season ticket holder? Are you happy that your clubs ticket prices are affordable to fans in general?

A junior season ticket has to be accompanied by an adult. Those season tickets are also like rocking horse poo, there's currently 50k plus people on a waiting list that have to pay to be on.

You can't buy a ticket for a single match unless you're "a member" at £30 a pop. If you wanted to buy 4 tickets for yourself and 3 kids you need 4 memberships at £30 a pop.

If the above scenario is not a rip off then I don't know what is.

I''ve got a season ticket so I'm not affected per se but it still isn't right.

Its not right but its the same at the majority of the top clubs. Comes down to supply and demand and they know the can get 100,000 £30 memberships in so why not.

I Go to as many matches as I choose nothing to do with you and is irrelevant to this post, my point is more about it will only dilute the current teams, or are you saying the City is flooded with semi-professional footballers looking for a team.

You're absolutely right about the disgraceful behaviour of all premiership teams and the prices, I just don't see how forming another team will change this.

Yes my Mrs and son are in the membership scheme and very rarely get a home game but do go to the cup games, like you say think they pay £30 a year each.

The aim of forming a team like this isn't to change the ways of the premier league teams. Its to create affordable football for the fans and give them another option at 15:00 on a Saturday. It might seem like a protest initially but it could grow into a genuine passion.
Yes Theres other non league teams in Merseyside but Theres no harm in creating another, Liverpudlians love their football and its a big city.
If they make an effort to operate in a principled fashion and the ethos of the club strikes a chord with fans then it could take off.

I,m fully aware of the passion in my home town for football and I'm sorry but you will never convince me that there is no were on merseyside that those disgruntled fans couldn't go and get behind a team on a saturday at 3 o'clock, the harm could easily be the players and fans the other non-league clubs lose in future years and they are already struggling.
You'll obviously be way more aware of FC United than me, but weren't they created on the back of a tremendous bow wave and protest which came before the club, the City of Liverpool seems more of a let's form the team then get the support.

If FC United or any of these teams got successful they too would follow suit and play any night of the week as instructed by Sky while raking in millions.

Tickets prices are a joke across the board. A club selling out a 50k stadium at £40 a ticket would still only earn around half of what they get through sky money. This is where clubs in Germany excel. They don't consider ticket money as a main financial stream and would rather fill a stadium with passionate fans than corporates.

I haven't before and I'm not going to try and convince you that there's nowhere else they can go. But I don't think you'll see Marine FCs or Prescot Cables gates drop if another team is formed just as Stalybridge and Hydes gates haven't dropped since FC united.

You seem to think that another club would have a detrimental effect on local non league football..

Since FC united's formation 10 years ago they've had gates of over 6000 and averaged around 2000 for home games and if Theres no game on at a weekend or if its a distant away game a lot of the fans will go and watch another non league team in the area who are at home, boosting attendances and putting money in the coffers.I do this myself quite often. I've watched Salford and Chorley many times in the last 10 years.
Not to mention the amount of ££ the other teams are taking through the gate when they're playing FC United at home, This alone is helping local clubs to develop and budget confidently for the following season.

I can only think that if a similar club in Liverpool were to be formed and established it would only promote and benefit non league locally in and around Liverpool.

It could take off but it probably won't, but personally I hope it does..

No mention on here of a comparison of City's season tickets. Ave bought one but am disgruntled and I told City so.
they have just extended and now have the third largest stadium in England ( 2nd largest council house) anyway there was a big song and dance about being able to buy £299 seats. Really, I don't think any new season ticket holders got one. With previous holders having first dibs they all went and rightly so.
But the hike to the next half decent seats was twice as much. The jump was/is too much for some.
some current season ticket holders were moved from there seats so a super match day experience for supporters area was created. At over £900 per season ticket.
think me club is losing its identity with the fans.
