Listening to opinions on the on the radio, made me laugh when some where saying the machete yielding kids were there to watch Frozen 2 as the weren't old enough to watch the controversial film Blue Story.

Ah the "Gangstar" culture that's taken over parts of the country

Always moaning about lack of opportunity being the route cause of why their complete .. insert bad word..

Any dangerous jobs out there we can provide them with the opportunity to do.. win win all round

So a film that very few of us have ever heard of is suddenly all over the press; can't help but wonder if this little "brawl" wasn't a huge publicity stunt that has backfired with the film being pulled.
It's only being pulled from a couple. The rest are keeping it on. Considering it is a small scale film with minimal pre release publicity, released on the same weekend as Frozen 2, this has been fabulous for the film. I'm sure it will do far better now than it would have done before. Likely it would have been shown once or twice a day for one week before being binned off for the next big offering. Now people will go to see what the fuss is about, 'down what this sort of thing 'etc.

A couple of chains, Vue & Showcase; Cineworld haven't commented, Odeon have "security measures in place". Vue has 20%of the market as far as I can see, can't find a figure for Showcase. Personally I'd look at that as more than being pulled from a couple.

Whatever it is and however good it might be, I'll be giving it a swerve at the cinema.

I think it is a film that would have disappeared without this publicity, it is a niche film. Odeon are keeping it on and I bet their figures for the next week will be bigger than for the weekend gone combined in all of the cinemas. I could be too cynical about this but I still reckon the films backers will be loving the publicity and will take being pulled from a couple of chains, even though they are big ones. Would Vue and Showcase have kept it on for a second week anyway? More screens to fit another showing of Frozen in now 😄

21 Bridges next for me.

The distributors will be loving it.

My missus actually arrived at South Woodford to audit the cinema yesterday, to be greeted by police and half the staff being interviewed.

They also had families looking for refunds on frozen tickets as didn’t want to be in a cinema whilst it was still being shown in case more trouble. Overall will be good for the film, but not sure about the cinemas.
