Christmas work partys ?

Ours was a good do last year. Plenty of free booze and food in some big swanky club. Not usually my sort of thing but was a laugh with everyone in fancy dress.

I work in music and everyone's always trying to be cool, it's nice to see people dressed up like a berk at least one day a year.

Have been to a few but never really enjoyed them so don't bother anymore and they know I'm an unsociable so and so and don't expect me to go! Love christmas with my friends and family but work colleagues are work colleagues and that's enough time spent with them!

Working for the NHS we don't get anything towards our Christmas lunch, nor do we get any flexi time for it.

We tend to do the cheapest carvery lunch we can find, then all pee off to the pub for a bit.

Work for yanks that treat staff with contempt
Xmas has been banned
Xmas goodie bag ( wine, chocs, biscs ) been dropped too
Even talk of working thru Xmas closure now......!!

As for arranging our own......Yes, this happens, but as stated by many others previously, I see some of these guys more than my wife and kid and have NO desire to spend a Xmas night out 'pretending' were all mates, we're Not, I choose my mates, we're JUST work colleagues, and I cant choose them.......Unfortunately

Bah Humbug.......!!!!

Kind of happy with our routine, Directors go out and collect 50 ulster frys/Sausage and Egg sodas in the morning, annual speech about how we need to keep on working hard etc etc, then upstairs to the boardroom to collect some beer and chocolate for the family, few hundred quid Christmas bonus then home early, some years we arrange a night out but not every year which suits me fine, I did manage to spill an entire pint of Guinness over a workmates jeans, I still swear to this day the table had a wonky leg :D
