Got a digital score counter from M&S (from my father in law - non golfer). Think that will be going in the charity pile at some point.

Apart from that the wife did a marvellous job (think I might keep her for another year!!) and got me a Callaway 3 wood (custom fitted - AG already had my specs from an earlier testing - wanted to wait to clear some debts before purchasing), a nice Lyle & Scott jumper and a Nike sleeveless jumper for those spring/autumn games where it is too hot for a full blown top but just a bit fresh.

Hope you all had a great Christmas

Very good mate, My missus understands I go out and play golf every week and that I occasionally get my name in the local paper for the competitions, however, when it comes to gear, I prefer that she either gets me vouchers or cash allocated towards a certain item so I can pick it myself, the tshirt this year shows she is trying though. :)

Hi guys and gals. Hope you all had a good one.

Not too bad on the pressie front. Winter (treaded) wheels for my electric trolley to stop the wheel spin on wet grass, an umbrella holder for the trolley, and Joe Dante's book The Four Magic Moves to Winning Golf. Haven't got too far into it yet but it certainly looks to have some interesting concepts. Originally published in the 1960's I believe so there must be reasons why it is still in print/reprint. Anyone read it ???

I got a fantastic all expenses paid 2 week golf holiday to South Carolina and Florida........then I woke up, Eastenders was on and I scanned my haul of 3 golf balls and a pitchmark repairer/knife/ball marker tool thing.
Seriously I instruct all my family that I must buy my own golf gear, finally after many years of dodgy golfing gifts they have got the message.
I just invested in a Mizuno F50 3 wood yesterday myself with all these online sales currently there are bargains to be had!

Guys and Gals, count yourselves lucky, in todays day and age of equality I got a lovely new Dyson Hoover from the parents!

My wife was rolling about the floor with laughter!

I honestly think this is the first year that I have not had any golf gear at crimbo time. So in response I'm going to buy myself two new Nike SV wedges. Its my duty!!!!!!

On another note I got my 1 year old son his first golf club, a Maxfli Putter, hes well chuffed but the missus was far too sensible worring about him hurting him self, holes in walls, broken lights, TV and stuff! We all need to learn dont we?

I got seve's autobiography which to be honest was one of the best presents I have ever had such is my regard for the great man. A must read for anybody.

I also got a new pair of greenjoys, a ball monogrammer and a couple of FJ gloves.

A good haul all told, mrs was spying on the forum to get ideas on what I would or wouldn't want.

I hope everybody had a great xmas, I'm back to work now sadly.

medwayjon,

I was given the Seve book last year and although I felt it was a good read, it did take a bit of the gloss of what I used to regard as a legend.

Other than that, regarding the OP,

Santa managed to get me a voucher for a series of lessons this year, so either he was watching my poor golf last year or he listened to my moans after each round!

I also got the R&A DVD about last years Open, still to get time to watch it yet, but it should be good.

My wife managed a new golf bag fronm santa and then hit the sales early yeserday and did well at AG with a variety of golf shirts for both her and my daughter.

I got a box of Top Flites :( from a fellow golfer who is determined to beat me EVERY time. However I have ordered a new Hybrid from 14clubs.com and this will lighten my gloom.

You can't complain, can you? Two good reads, the tees will be used and the cleaning stuff will come in handy!

You're a lucky b*****. You spend all day on the course working and then Mrs. Greenkeeper supplies new clubs at Xmas.

I am sorry to say     I got a golf club cleaning tool that has a nylon brush for the delicate irons and a stel brush for those tough woods ... but hold on, here's the best bit .... with CARABINER clip that clips the damn thing onto the bag, from the spouse.

My reply was was 'Wow .... I don't have one of these'

The bit I said to myself was 'The bloody reason I don't have one is because I DON'T EFFIN WANT ONE !!!!!!!!!!!!'
