Know there's a few punters on here, so let's hear your bets for the week, anyone going? Friday for me, 1.5hrs down the road so always try to get there.

Remember, nobody likes an aftertimer so tell us what you've had before, not after ;)

Not had an ante post bet at all, almost disinterested tbh

Far too many horses being re-routed, pulled out, avoiding each other etc. Will get a paper Tuesday morning and take a look, Not sure Ill be backing many shorties if the weather forecast is right either! Snowed at the track today!

My favourite week of the year, unfortunately im not going this year.

After i got my fingers burnt with Ante post punting, ive not had anything at all.

I can't see Apples Jade getting beat in the Champion Hurdle though if Laurina is declared i'll have a cover on the forecast and i'll be backing Mia's Storm in the Mares.

i like Commander Of Fleet aswell, thats probably goin the in Martin Pipe.

Sky Bet have got a great offer on for Cheltenham. Money returned as cash if your horse doesn't win the first race every day. Up to £20. Basically £80 of free bets and the worst you can do is get all your money back.

Used to be right into the horses but don't bother with them any more, so will just be backing the favourite blind in each of the above races.

Only missed one day of the Festival since 1984 and will be heading down tomorrow.
Betway are offering money back as free bets on losing bets in both the first and last races each day (up to £10) so that along with the Skybet offer mentioned above are well worth looking at.
Will not be easy picking winners, it never is, due to the change in ground conditions to soft from the good ground we’ve had for most of the winter.
FWIW my Yankee tomorrow is Elixir de Nutz, Paloma Blue, Crucial Role and Jerrysback.
Good luck all.

Thomas Darby E/W in the opener and Sharjah E/W in the Champion Hurdle.

Kiss of death for them!

Although we are members at Cheltenham my wife and I give the Festival a miss in favour of the TV coverage.

In recent times it seems to have become more about a boozy party rather than the racing. By 4 o'clock in the afternoon the behaviour of many is pretty disappointing to say the least.

Too much emphasis in parts of the media e.g. talksport on the drinking.

You are right, the drinking has got worse and it is not as pleasant. People have always enjoyed a beer to go along with the racing, but now the are a significant number who just concentrate on the beer and probably don’t even see a horse!

Absolutely!

When we go racing we usually watch one race from the bar but the atmosphere at the Festival has become something we no longer want a part of.

Mind you try shifting me from in front of the telly over the next four afternoons.

I don't know how people afford to go and get hammered, the price of a pint is extortionate.

Nothing stood out for me tomorrow, so small stakes:

Lalor & Mister Whitaker EW double

Laurina, Kalashnikov, Fakir D'Oudairies in a trixie

Whenever we go we dont start drinking til about 4ish, Cheltenham isnt about drinking.

I backed Fakir D'Oudairies last 2 runs at decent prices, it scooted up that hill on trials day and with a featherweight i cant see it being beaten.

I'm going to go through the card later when the RP downloads on my ipad😉

I agree it shouldn't be, it's just a pity there aren't more that think like that.

BTW my wife shares your support of Fakir D'Oudaires.

Just seen Bazzatron's post. She's also on Kalashnikov and Mr Whittaker.

I wonder if she's been reading the Forum.

Elixir is a NR if you weren't aware.

I had Rathvinden and Mr Whitaker in a double last year, for a small time punter like me, winning £440 was huge. Only reason I've picked Mr W again :)

Here’s my picks for today.

1.30 - Fakir D’Oudairies @ 6/1 skybet offer
2.10 - Hardline @11/2 Ornua @14/1 ew
2.50 - Noble Endeavour. @ 14/1
3.30 - Apple's Jade @ 2/1
4:10 - Mia’s Storm @ 25/1 ew
4.50 - Cubomania @ 14/1 ew
5.30 - Impulsive Star @14/1 ew Discorama @ 6/1

Happy Punting!

In view of the conditions I have changed my selection for the opener to a small e/w punt on Brandon Castle.

(Just watch my original selection, Thomas Darby, romp up!)
