Couldn't see another post regarding this on here so I thought I would ask the question......................

Are Chelsea fans not gutted that you didn't give them more of a chance?

De Bruyne and Salah is what I'm talking about. Chelsea had them for a season, but hen decided to let them go to then watch them come back to the PL a year later and one is probably one of hte best attacking midfielders in Europe and the other being the PL top scorer and looks like he's going to go on to probably knock the best part of 30 goals in the PL this season.

I know a lot of teams let players move on that aren't quite working out to see them flourish elsewhere, but has any other players come back and had as much of an impact as these 2 have.

De Bruyne and Salah have got 20 goals and 11 assists between them, Hazard and Morata have 14 goals and 6 assists.

clubs need instant success now they cant wait for players to develop

they sold matic for peanuts and bought him back for big money

English clubs need to be more like barca... put clauses in the sales for buy backs and sell on fees

Is that just league goals you're talking about? According to the BBC live text commentary of the Bournemouth v Liverpool game Salah has already got 20 goals this season. He's the first Liverpool player to get to 20 goals before Xmas since Ian Rush in 1986-87.

No way on earth jose would have turned these two into what they are now and so they would not have been these players so in my opinion we did not miss out.

That's just there PL performances, if you take all competitions into account then it's even more impressive.

Ironically, this is what a pal sent me yesterday and before I post I didn't know Salah played for Chelsea until yesterday.
when I asked if they both played under Maureen he said.
Yes, but De Bryine didn't show enough to dislodge Hazard. like I said he's playing a differant role now,Salah froze, he's had a couple of years away playing in Italy and now looks bigger and stronger, it's like Matic, I was ok with it because the Bakayoka that's played for Monaco last season was an upgrade but it looks like we've bought his twin brother who's ***** at the moment.

in essence, they are both differant players now to what they were at Chelsea. Having said all that, they are not the only two players that Maureen has not got the best out of.

But it still has to gutting to think how good Chelsea would be if they had Hazard, Morata and Salah across the forward line this year, then De Bruyne behind them supplying passes and goals. I know what you are saying, but like has been mentioned, why do teams not have buy back clauses on young players when they let them go. At least if they clear off for a year or 2 and really find their feet you can always go get them back.

Always easy to be wise after the event and maybe they just didn't show enough at the time or weren't ready and needed a manager to be patient which never happened and is a rare commodity at most clubs these days

Chelsea under Maureen were all about ready made players - in fact any club under Maureen is all about ready made players - he doesn’t develop players and doesn’t look to bring them on or improve them. He is a superb man manager and motivator who gets the best out of what he has but coaching wise he is totally different to the way Pep works for example who does develop players through the team.

It’s why under Maureen you don’t see young players coming through , if a player is bought and isn’t fully ready or needs nurturing then they don’t last long with him and he will move them on. Under a different manager at Chelsea i suspect that players like De Bruyne and Salah would have been given more time to develop

Scott McTominay played again today .............. good prospect, too.

Slime please stop picking holes in posts by other bitter posters

Yes thos four mins at the end of a match really do show that Maureen does indeed bring through and develop young players - add him to the list of others like ..... um

A nicely twisted statistic; you've completely overlooked the fact that Salah & De Bruyne play for 2 different teams, therefore they have played twice as many games as Morata & Hazard. Halve one pair of figures or double the other, you can see who is actually better if you're going to use statistics as your yardstick.

clubs need instant success now they cant wait for players to develop

they sold matic for peanuts and bought him back for big money

Matic was sold in order to buy David Luiz, who was the player we needed at the time, a decision justified by his contribution to a Europa League & a Champions League victory.

No way on earth jose would have turned these two into what they are now and so they would not have been these players so in my opinion we did not miss out.

Is the correct answer.

Not many teams let the youngsters develop now. Not at the tip table at least.

Pep so far at city has got the playing well. But let's not pretend the team were nobodies before he arrived. Pep has always had ready made teams with superstars.

Don't get me wrong he gets em playing beautifully, but unless he stays at a team fir a decade an manages a whole crop of youngsters through, then he's not any different to most imo

A similar question would be Southampton, what could have been. But clubs move players on, for money, or because they dont fit into the current set up. Its life, its footy, its the way of the world. Would that Arsenal had moved a few players on, and not just sat on them.

I think for us (saints), it wasn’t a case of us not realising how good players were, it was that others knew how good they could be too.

Chelsea if they’d wished could have kept those players, realistically we couldn’t.

Or was it a case of realising the potential but being realistic enough to get the right price at the right time

Yeah Pep is working wonders with all the younsters he’s brought through 😂

De Bruyne should have been given more time at Chelsea imo.
Salah just looked like a headless chicken.
I think he was trying too hard to impress.
Maybe he knew that he wouldn’t be given much time.

But tbf Chelsea haven’t done too bad since they left.
Current Premier league Champions 😏
