Cheese and Biscuits

I generally have a cheese board after my apple pie (hot) and custard (cold), not instead of.

Water biscuits or digestives, a nice mature cheddar, red leicester or strong stilton does the trick. Like a few grapes on the side, and some nice onion chutney.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm, plans for tonights victuals have just moved up a notch...........

Lets get this straight, C&B are not a desert ............. they come after desert :D:D

Oatcakes or herb infused crackers, no butter

Shropshire Blue
Roquefort
Stilton
Brie
Strong Cheddar
Local Swiss and French cheese

All with a good port and grapes, done

You Sir, are a true Gentleman. Can I add Wensleydale with cranberry in, or pretty much any cheese. Its got to be washed down with a Taylor's tawny port.

Nice and simple for me. A nice cheddar on a cracker with butter........oh and a wee Grenache/Syrah grape combination to wash it down. :)

All these people restricting themselves and choosing just the one cheese. Two of my recent efforts...............

If it's worth doing then it's worth doing properly. But I am fortunate to have a local butcher that has a superb cheese counter and I normally walk out of there around £35-40 poorer but significantly richer in the cheese department.

A mate's missus ordered some extra-smelly bishops finger or something online, just before Easter.

They couldn't deliver it on the thursday, as no-one to sign for it.

They delivered it on the Tuesday, and the courier said that the parcel had stunk the depot out over the weekend.

I am guessing that was the wonderful stinking bishop, a cracking cheese but it can get a bit ripe and the smell stays on whatever it touches for a while. My local deli has a separate board to cut it on
