Changing balls between holes, is it immoral?

I tee'd off with a Pro V1x #3 with a red line on it and knocked it into the heather the other night. Found it, chipped out, played onto the green then went up to mark it. It was now a Pro V1x #2 with a red line on it. Does that count in the context of this thread?

That's the balls countdown to when it is really lost. Next time it will read #1
