Anyone play yesterday? I was 4 hrs 45 mins for round one, so decided to give rd 2 a miss! the hangover didn't help either!

Course was in great condition, though a touch wet, the greens were immaculate and pretty quick for the amount of rain that had fallen. I lost 4 balls and everything Dr Bob has taught me over the past 3 weeks has gone out the window! Still, it's only a 0.1 up on the h/c!!

Cawder is the same every year, decent greens, saturated and slower than Ben Crane. Also as per usual about a third of the field never complete round two due to the pace of play.

The organisation of it leaves a lot to be desired. Only 36 hole events for me this year will be The Cumbrae Cup (Millport) and The Bennie (Rothesay).

**EDIT*

The Argyll & Bute strokeplay at Machrihanish Dunes as well.

used to play in it every year, was always wet and slow. Usually found 2 rounds in the 60's won each year.

Slow rounds in the cold and wet don't interest me anymore, it's supposed to be enjoyable:(

Did you make buffer for the first round because if not it should be a .2 added to your handicap as you will get a .1 increase for the 2nd round because you did not play and it will go down as an NR.

Cawder is a good track but can be a slog in the wet.
