Cauliflower cheese is mmmmmmmm, broccoli is for the dustbin

As a kid, I hated Cabbage, sprouts, cauli and brocolli, largely because my mum used to boil the life out of them and just stick them on the side of the plate. These days, I like them all, but they don't really get boiled much. A quick blanche for the cauli and brocolli before adding the cheese sauce and sticking in the oven. Blanched brocolli with mayo is quite good too. Pan fry the sprouts with lardons (can add chestnuts), or eat the cabbage raw with a garlic yakiniku sauce/ dip. All yummy.

Ah but have you tried thinly sliced parsnips and pancetta tagliatelle (with garlic and rosemary) - a Jamie Oliver recipe - abs splendid - parsnips go lovely and creamy.

Listening to a Farmer on my defacto rant radio channel (Radio 4) he suggested the second crop were comming on fine so no need to be melancholy.

Same for me for me with regards Mums veg!
To make matters worse I went in Army at 17 only to find the Army Catering Corps had all been trained by Mum!
