Carry or trolley?

Here's another question for you.
Why is it the better the golfer becomes, the more likely he/she is to carry their bag?

Simple, most players of a good standard will play the course the shortest way and not like most high cappers. the average hole for them will be

Tee, semi rough, putt putt.

lee wlking, less looking less miles on the shoes etc.

average hole for a high capper inc me at the moment.

driver left, walk around looking, hack it out, carry back, get to ball, hit it again (either short or through) walk again chip, walk again 2 putts walk again.

More wlaking means they normally carry

drink incase of thirst (more weight)
More balls (more weight)

hence most decent level players having a few balls in their bag and a bottle of water max. If we work on my local course being about 5500 yards, i reckon i easily walked 7500 yesturday, man i missed my trolley

Carry, If its a macho thing to carry a bag, what is it to trolley it? Some footballers wear gloves to keep their little soldiers toasty, some dont mind a bit of cold...personal choice.
I dont see it as macho,Its my choice.
However I do think a fraction of a percentage less of someone who uses one for no medical or actual reason.
I choose to carry for numerous reasons, even down to being able to take my drink out of the bag without having to stop on the fairway to do so,
I can walk across the course without others hearing me and putting them off everytime I encounter a gravel path.
I have nothing needing charged nightly
I dont have to assemble anything from the car
I dont need to worry about how good the warranty service is..
I have nothing electrical to worry about and as my bag has straps, can carry it up and down hills and not look daft trying to drag/push a dead leccy mule.
I dont need to scrub the trolley I dont have after winter rounds.
I can jump streams, only seen one trolley bearer try that before and failed hilariously.
I can cross greens quickly and easily.

Could not agree with this more.

I do both
Carrying is convenient and for 18 not a problem, though throw in a few hills . . .
I have done 36 and on a benign course it isn't a problem, throw in hot, lots of excursions to the nether regions and such like and that's another story.

Most comps, long and/or hilly courses, I'll use the electric, not that it improves the result you understand, just that I go out thinking it will.

the diehards would have us carry in winter to protect the course, just when we need to pile in the extra kit - daft that.

I do both, it all depends on my mood.

My course is pretty hilly though short but carrying does take its toll by the 15th especially in winter. I did find though when I switched to the GK last season I had more energy which meant higher concentration levels until the 19th.

I carried on another local course last week over 18 holes and it was a very flat course I was totally fine, even with the Grom which is a heavy stand bag.

This weekend I shall be carrying as I have other commitments afterwards and need to shoot off fast afterwards.

Have a Go Kart and hardly use it. Last time was Forest Pines + Longest Day. Will have a looka at the article later when HID watches some Bride TV crap on SKY.

I carried all four rounds last year on the longest day challenge. Felt it for the last nine but other than that no problem. Nothing to do with macho but knew the GK was only going to last two rounds and couldn't be bothered swapping.

I prefer to use my trolly for competitive rounds so I can carry what I need (waterproofs, maybe a thin jumper, drinks, snacks spare gloves and towels if its raining) but if I know I'll be playing a lot during the week I'll take a carry bag up at the start of the week and leave it in the locker.

I definitely feel more tired carrying. Not sure if there is any connection to energy levels and my diabetes but usually feel pretty knackered by the 16th and the concentration definitely goes around the 12th and its much harder to stay focussed.
