I bought an 07 vauxhall astra in august last year, and so far, it has cos me 160 to pass its MOT and in order to stop the engine overheating, another 320 to replace the thermostat housing.

I got the car on finance, on a HP over 5 years.

My question is, can I downgrade on the grounds that it is costing me an arm and a leg to keep running?

if it's on finance you can't sell privately it untill you pay off the finance, were if you got the car with a bank loan no problem

tried looking for parts myself mate, but theyre 285 quid, and Im a teacher, not a mechanic, I wouldnt have the first clue about fitting stuff to cars!

Thats where forums come in handy, Pretty much everything I need to do to my impreza service/upgrade wise can be found on the subaru forums across the WWW, I would only pay for timing belt or clutch replacements as they are quite time consuming.. and I am an IT manager! haha.
