Me and Missis T are off there next week for a romantic break. Any ideas where to go whilst down there. A pal has mentioned Whitstable and Broadstairs.

Lots of lovely spots down there, Tash.

But please, please, make sure you give Sheerness the widest berth possible. It’s so bad it makes Hartlepool look like Bora Bora.

The absolute armpit of the universe.

Whitstable is great. Margate is also kinda cool in an urban regeneration kinda way.

If you like Mexican food, try the Cafe des Amis. One of the best meals we've had.

A couple of years back we stayed two nights in the cathedral accommodation located within the cathedral precinct…it was magical being able to go into the cathedral whenever we fancied and wander the grounds after all was closed up for the night and tourists gone. I’d always advise visitors spending time in the cathedral and precincts…as well as the medieval old town, a very peaceful and spiritual place.

Your a stones throw from our favourite restaurant, Azouma.
Middle eastern dining.
Canterbury obviously cathedral tour and the stour river punt is a giggle.
Your also close to the bus depot and you can catch the triangle which takes you to Whitstable.

Personally I think Whitstable is overrated, certainly wouldn't eat any seafood there.
Broadstairs is much nicer.
Margate has the Turner and has some nice places to eat.
If you fancy an all day thing , Dover castle is well worth a visit.

Canterbury has the Marlowe theatre, if you want to do something in the evening.
Most shows get sold out but you could contact the box office

And there's a fantastic golf course just up the road, with some excellent members 🤣.

Azouma is deffo on the list. That’s me food sorted. I think Broadstairs is on the list as well, as much as I fancy Dover/castle. Am not sure Missis T would.

There's really not that much in Whitstable, there's a small high street and a small harbour with a few eateries around it.

Deal castle is interesting, Broadstairs definitely, whitstable bit boring very popular with the London set it is quite pretty. You can walk from Whitsatble ..tankerton to Herne Bay .. Herne Bay has a part pier but the main sea front is arcades but some beautiful houses..
