Can't hit a provisional

I think the whole reason that the Provisional work out better is that the initial shot was being forced whereas
im concious of what iv done wrong with my first attempt so on the second i manage to at least temporarily solve what went wrong in the first place.........

Im constantly saying it to my playing partners....."Golf should be like tennis, You should get 2 goes :D :D :D

I know when and how I have hit a bad one almost every occasion, so I must at some stage have self analysed so I cant see anything wrong with that. I think hitting as though you dont care can help many golfers but not all.

When I hit a duffer, I tend to hit another with a couldnt care less yet a little angry attitude and it usually works. When it doesnt it is usually because I have too many thoughts of what went wrong and I try too hard to correct.

When you hit a provisional do you envisage a totally different shot to the one you've already hit?

When I hit a crappy shot OOB or something and place my provisional on the tee I certainly don't envisage hitting it the same as the first. In fact 9 times out of 10 I find my provisional goes really well, which leads me to blurt out, "Now why didn't I do that the first time!!?".

I think it's mostly mental with me. The pressure is off because I'm 3 off the tee, so I seem to be able to relax and hit a good shot.
