Ive eventually got round to videoing my swing and its on the following link. Any pointers would be most appreciated and as previously stated in some of my links i struggle from an early release i have been told. Ive slowed it down abit for the sake of my camera so let me know what u think.

Ive got some front and back shots as I have a feeling that my stance may not be perfect. I normally hit a little draw and would prefer it to be more straight.

Any feed back would be appreciated guys I need help and really wanna hit the work hard over winter and stop this release for more power and control!

P.s HC = 1

The Swing

haha i know my camera work isnt the best but its not the best camera. Is there anything constructive about the swing tho? things to work on?

Was going to say it's a brave man who offers any advice on that swing. Looks great to me. You've got a swing and handicap that most on here would die for. Just out of interest, who told you you had a problem with an early release and what sort of problem do you (they) believe it is causing? Maybe Bobmac or Charlie Hopper our resident pga pros can help.

well, ive always hit the ball really high and never been able to solve it. I then got fitted a week ago using the mizuno fitting center and club. The results from the fitting club showed that i had a low "toe down" score which basically means i release early instead of holding the angle. Its really whinding me up now and i want to sort it out over winter. Also i want to try and be less "handsy" so i can get more control.

I tend to draw the ball and when things are bad it goes into a bigger draw and i wud prefer to sort that too

Golfstick, do you have the free V1 golf software?
If so, click on the youtube button and cut and paste your youtube link
When it's loaded take a look at your hips and right foot at impact and compare them to the tour players.
Most tour players will have cleared their hips by impact, whereas yours are still pretty much square and your right heal still planted at impact.
I suggest you feel your body turning more through the shot and less swinging with the arms and hands.
The harder you turn your hips, the less chance the ball will start left
Apart from that, not bad :D

I will go search for this v1 software now! I used to be a lot more flexible but over the last 2 years without playing golf i bulked up in the gym and lost it a bit. I will work on trying to turn through it more with the hips and hopefully my early release might stop a bit. Any tips for making my hips move more? :)

Is my plain and positions ok? At points i thought i might be a little flat and a bit stooped at address which i am working on.
P.s Cheers for the review bob

awesome, thought it was Paul Casey for a second !

HAHA thanks i think! I wundt mind a set of guns like his!

I know the pros here have the eyes and brainpower to do just as good a job but maybe a session with a swing analyser might help. No idea where to go but I heard things on here about such places.

technology could help you but I still think that bobmac is right (not biased because he is in Lincolnshire, where I grew up)

Just a couple of positions to improve
1) Right leg needs to stay more flexedin the back swing (this should help with the right foot position as impact.

2) The swing plane needs to be slightly more upright which will result in a straighter ball flight.

However take in to account that I play off 16 and you play off 1 !!!

I agree, i think i do need to be slightly more upright and i shall work on that asap. I will also try to get my right leg a bit more flexed to help with my clearing of the hips and a better ball hitting position

Disagree with all the comments other than the need to clear the hips.

Your hips aren't clearing far enough behind you because you appear to be pushing your hands away from you (not too disimilar to this recently posted swing)...

making it unnatural for your body to go both back and forward at the same time.

If you try and get your hands through closer to the same position they started and the club on plane then you'll feel that you want to clear your left side more naturally (your left buttock will feel like it almost goes backwards). Will probably help you to maintain a good spine angle through impact too. Possible that you might try and raise your hands slightly at address with the driver (up AND away from your thighs with the irons) as they are quite low, which will effectively give you a fraction more space to swing the hands into on the downswing.

I definitely, definitely, definitely wouldn't stand up any taller.

Just my opinion of course.

(nb: Where were you aiming with that particular driver swing? Maybe it was the camera angle but you looked mighty closed to where the ball took off)

Thanks Justone, thats a very detailed response and you have flagged some very good points! i am going to try and look at my swing in slow motion a little more and focus on how i can try and improve it. Thanks again I appreciate it lots!
