Are they now not allowed, as i am going to the saturday and sunday but would like to be able to take some photos. is there anybody else going who plans on taking a camera????

thanks

What if I hide my phone in my shoe?

...you'd still get busted...
I remember David Hill (R&A's recently retired director of Championships) telling me they had found a phone in a ham sandwich at Carnoustie!

Am going on Wednesday and am meeting a few guys down there - my travel time is 3 hrs (ish) without a phone may need to resort to smoke signals if i'm delayed

Why can't you take your phone on the journey, then leave it (they have a manned unit to look after them) at the entrance when you go into the course?

They had scanners there today and mobiles were a no no. You take them back to your car or they have somewhere to leave them.

Wowee... strict! Think I'll be leaving mine in the car then!

You going any other days Chris?

You have absolutely no chance of getting either a phone or a camera into the Open. They have airport type security when you are entering the course.

Which would explain why so many people manage to take photos. :D

I've been to the last three Opens and apart from the press I have never seen a camera on the course, also never seen a mobile phone.

They really do use airport style security scanners.

Sunday is a possibility but not sure - you?

you could always take one of those hidden camera pens or sunglasses with a camera built in lol

You cannot tell with the pen and takes a good photo , just say u using it for notes or to get signature's

But won't they suspect something when he climbs out of the DB5. I mean the ejector seat will give it away won't it????
;)

They had the scanners at the RC too. In the park'n'ride before you get on the shuttle bus.
They were supposed to have a no camera rule at Wentworth but I saw hundreds taking piccys on their phones.
